PCL Collagen Biostimulator
In general, suitable candidates for undereye filler are those who have genuine hollows, relatively good skin quality, and thicker skin in the area under the eyes. On the other hand, patients with skin laxity can end up getting a lumpy result with undereye filler and those with thin skin risk having the Tyndall effect (bluish discoloration of skin). At Veritas, PCL collagen biostimulator is offered as an alternative to undereye filler.
Collagen Biostimulators stimulate our body’s own production of collagen. For sunken undereyes caused by loss of collagen and elastin, PCL collagen biostimulator restores volume naturally to improve the appearance of dark circles and eye bags, with long lasting results of over 2 years.

Fotona BrightEye Combo
With more than 18 unique lasers, including various vascular lasers as well as pigmentation lasers, dark eye circles can be removed minimally-invasively and painlessly.
Dr. Chua is the first and only trainer for Fotona lasers in Singapore, as well as for the ProYellow vascular laser. Dr. Chua often combines different pigmentation and vascular lasers to target the different components of the skin, including a unique Fotona SmoothEye laser that directly treats the mucosal (inside layer) of the eye tissues to improve dark eye circles and eyebags.
PDRN Skin Booster (Eye)
PDRN Skin Booster (Eye) consists of purified polynucleotides (PN) derived from salmon DNA. The high concentration of Polynucleotides in PDRN Skin Booster stimulates collagen and elastin production, resulting in thicker and healthier skin under the eyes. This conceals the blood vessels from showing through and reduces the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. PDRN Skin Booster (Eye) has a light viscosity and is specially formulated for the delicate eye area and used to treat dark eye circles, wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes.

What is the difference between undereye fillers and collagen biostimulator for dark eye circles treatment?
Undereye fillers are very commonly used for dark eye circle treatment. However, not everyone is suitable for undereye fillers and such treatment also comes with the risks of lumpy results or a Tyndall effect.
Filler and Collagen biostimulator differ in their main component. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is the main component for undereye fillers, which acts as a weak collagen stimulator. In contrast, Polycaprolactone microspheres (PCL) and Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) are the main components of the collagen biostimulator, which allows collagen to be naturally absorbed by the body. Due to the unique biodegradable pattern of the collagen biostimulator, the effects are longer lasting, with results lasting up to 2 years.

Why is a combination treatment recommended to get rid of dark eye circles?
A single modality approach is often not effective for getting rid of dark eye circles as more than 80% of dark eye circles have 2 or more causes. During the consultation, the doctor will assess the causes of your dark eye circles and recommend treatments tailored to your condition.

Can genetic dark circles be treated?
Some individuals have naturally thinner skin and higher levels of melanin in the undereye area, making them more predisposed to developing dark circles. Fortunately, some treatments can reduce its appearance.

Are lasers safe for treatment around the eyes?
Dr Chua is the official trainer for Fotona Lasers and ProYellow Laser in Singapore. At Veritas, we use non-invasive lasers to treat dark eye circles and eye bags. Controlled and gentle heating is delivered, making it a safe treatment with minimal downtime. During treatment, an ocular eye shield would be used to protect the eyes.
